November 2017
3rd November 2017
No insect life to be seen, and the only movement came from birds. A small flock of Greenfinch flew over the site, and a few Long-tailed Tit flitted between the small trees near the top entrance. These were joined by a noisy Marsh Tit. Not too many plants in flower now. There is still quite a lot of water in Rock Bath 1, and some also remains in RB2.

An afternoon visit to the SQ to see how much snow had landed after the first snowfall of the Winter. As I arrived, a small flock of Bullfinches (Süvöltő) flew over the site, uttering their distinctive nasal calls. A less welcome sight was the load of broken building blocks that had been neatly deposited on the side of the airfield road, near to the houses. I wonder who recently ordered blocks, locally, that bore that trade mark? Ice covered the water in Rock Bath 1, and there was still some water in RB2, as well as the reedbed part of The Bowl. Again, it was interesting to see how the snow 'picked-out' the numerous pathways.
