November 2015
8th & 12th November 2015
Last Sunday, 8th November, on a visit with her friend, Irén, Teréz discovered a large quantity of empty bottles and cans. It looked like someone had saved them for quite some time, before deciding to dump them inside the SQ. Some were branded 'Burn', and others were branded 'Hell'. It amused me to ponder that, perhaps one day, the guilty party will in fact, 'burn in Hell' for committing such acts. Teréz returned on Thursday 12th November to bag-up the bottles and cans, only to find a pile of building waste inside the site. She also 'tidied' this and stacked it beside the fence, where it awaits disposal. She really has better things to do with her time !
13th November 2015 - (Friday !!! - Péntek)
A Friday afternoon visit to record what fauna and fauna remained, and also to clear-up cut vegetation, and the remaining building waste that was so kindly donated by a caring local person ! For mid-November, several plant species were still in-flower. Birds seen were: Raven, Great Tit, and a pair of Great Spotted Woodpecker that overflew the site. Birds heard were: Black Woodpecker, Bullfinch, and, I believe, a Fieldfare. One Agile Frog was enjoying the receding water in The Bowl, and at least one other made some movement in Rock Bath 1. The site was adorned with autumnal colours. After studying and recording, I transported 7 or 8 loads of vegetation (that had been cut by Teréz a few days ago) to the pile that is blocking 'the gap' in the fence. After that, I scrambled down the slope to retrieve the last of the building waste, adding it to Teréz's existing heap. Saddest sight of the day? Well, I suppose it was the small, dead Grass Snake, found near RB1. Cause of death unknown, but it may have been caught out by a recent cold snap.
