February 2020
4th February 2020 - (Tuesday, Kedd)
As we'd had so much rain overnight, I decided to visit the site to check the situation. I was only there for a few minutes as the rain was continuous and therefore not good for exposed cameras! I was pleased to see quite a good waterfall in action, and that The Bowl was filling nicely.
6th February 2020 - (Thursday, Csütörtök)
A visit on a very sunny, blue sky day, but there was a very cold wind blowing across the site. The water had now turned to ice, but the warm rays of the sun had started to melt the ice that was on the pathways. Only Great Tit and Jays seen.
13th February 2020 - (Thursday, Csütörtök)
A quick visit to check the water levels after the recent heavy rainfall. Sadly, the water in The Bowl had already started to recede, as evidenced by the 'tidemark' on the indicator rock in the Coffee Pool. No signs of amphibian life in the water, as yet.
22nd February 2020 - (Saturday, Szombat)
A short visit to check on the water situation. As expected, since the rain has stopped, the water level in The Bowl has started to drop. As can be seen in these images, there is no longer complete water coverage of the main Bowl area. Rock Bath 1 has a reasonable amount of water, but this is currently topped by ice. No amphibian activity was seen. In fact, no life of any sort was seen.
25th February 2020 - (Tuesday, Kedd)
No time for exploring the site today. I was only there to collect the rubbish from the 'red light' track, the airfield road verges, and from inside the Small Quarry. However, I spotted one of the new Airbus H145 helicopters of the Hungarian Air Force making an approach to the airfield. This meant that I sped up to the airfield to take photographs, but then cleaned their car park of rubbish afterwards!
