January 2017
2nd January 2017 - (Monday, Hétfő)
My first visit of 2017. As can be seen, the SQ was ornamented with some very impressive hoar frost. It was also very cold, so I was glad to be wearing 2 coats and some thermal trousers! A male Blackbird was seen, and some Ravens called as they flew overhead, invisible in the low cloud.
5th January 2016 - (Thursday, Csütörtök)
Yesterday, we had a reasonable fall of snow, but neither Teréz or myself had time to visit the SQ. I put that right today, but, after some sunny periods, there wasn't as much snow on display. Even so, the features of the site always look good in these mixed conditions.
Teréz paid a late afternoon visit on the same day (5th January 2017), and here are her photos:

10th January 2017 - (Tuesday, Kedd)
A short, morning visit to document the site after last night's snowfall ... about 10 cms. A Fieldfare was heard, and some tracks were found, which were probably Fox. It looked like a single rail line, as if the tail had been dragging in the snow, but it was probably caused by the changing of the legs during walking, as the footprints themselves were not damaged. To be honest, after forgetting my gloves, my hands were too cold to stand around investigating such things ! The temperature was about -7 degrees, but felt lower due to the cold wind. With the sun shining on the snow, it was hard to select the correct camera settings, and some of my shots look a little too bright.
15th January 2017 - (Sunday, Vasárnap)
A short, afternoon visit to see how 'scenic' the scenary was ..... and it was very scenic! We'd had about 20 cm of snow recently, and the rich brown of the andesite rock paired with the stunning white of the snow reminded me of Genoa fruit cake, which, unfortunately, I don't have! A few Blackbirds were seen, and 3 Greenfinches flew over me. A flock of about 70 Fieldfare settled on the oak trees on the top rim before flying southwards towards Gyöngyös town.
24th January 2017 - (Tuesday, Kedd)
A short visit to mainly capture the wintery scenes. Some Fieldfares, Blackbirds, and Great Tits were noted, and a Buzzard flew over the site. Plenty of footprints in the snow, but most were difficult to identify. It looked like Roe Deer had visited the Rock Bath 1 area.
